Under limited supervision, this position provides instruction to English Language Learning. Classes may include basic and intermediate level ELL, Citizenship, and Computer Literacy.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Two years teaching experience preferred. Secondary Education Certification preferred.
- Ability to instruct students from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to interact effectively with people on phone, via email, and in person.
- Ability to work with people is essential.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Candidate must exhibit an excellent work ethic, demonstrate a professional attitude, and possess excellent computer literacy skills.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to interpret and handle routine decisions as related to departmental operations.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions in detail with accuracy and efficiency.
Work Performed
- Assist students with ELL coursework in a variety of formats including explicit instruction, online learning, and individual instruction.
- Plan and participate in student orientation.
- Maintain and report accurate and timely student records.
- Provide staff development related to instruction, data entry and assessment.
- Assist with completion of State of Iowa Adult Education and Literacy program metrics in order to meet program goals.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance at work.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding students and colleagues.
- Ability to organize and present various curriculum concepts to a wide range of students with varying backgrounds and abilities and adjust teaching techniques accordingly.
- Assume responsibility; deal effectively with problems, and exercise independent judgment when making decisions.
- Other duties as may be assigned.

Other - Non Exempt - Grant-funded, at-will letter of employment.
- This position is dependent on grant funding and subject to change based on availability of funds.
