Duties:
• Displays a willing and helpful attitude to customers and staff. Professionally communicates in a warm, concerned, caring, and friendly manner over the telephone and in person.
• Specific duties and responsibilities are also delineated in employment agreements and privileging approvals through the Medical Staff and Board.
• Participates in the training and development of skills of dental assistants.
• Participates in the activities of committees, or special initiatives as assigned.
• Participates in the development and delivery of programs to enhance the public awareness of dental health promotion, and participates in the surveillance of community water fluoridation programs as assigned.
• Participates in programs designed to assure regulatory compliance (CMS and other governing Bodies) required of Maniilaq Health Center and the dental clinic.
• Share after hours on-call duties, as well as weekend and holiday duties with other dentist(s). Call-back pay applies.
• Provide Supervision for Dental Health Aides.
• Required Village Travel a minimum of 1week/quarter.
• Accesses, reads and responds as necessary to written material and e-mail on a daily basis.
• Demonstrates discretion in handling confidential information. Maintains confidentiality of patients and hospital-related information.
• For Active Staff Category: must have current dental license in one of the United States, and is required to obtain an Alaska Dental License within one year of employment.
• Responsible for referral to specialists and follow up for patient(s) as needed. Qualifications:
• DDS/DMD degree from a dental school accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation
• Current BLS certificate
