Duties
- Assist in working with school health teams to plan, develop and implement comprehensive school health programs that meet the needs of public and BIA schools.
- Assist with teacher training, program development, curriculum development and testing and ensuring curriculum materials, supplies and equipment inventories are maintain and functioning.
- Assist schools in all systems of financial support development, i.e., grant proposal to IHS, tribal and commercial resources.
- Assists with coordination of local committees established in family-based health promotion activities and events throughout the year.
- Assist in designing and implementing school health program evaluation and promote the safety of participants.
- Assists coordinator with evaluation of School Health Programs by assessing student and staff satisfaction, attitude and behavioral changes, adoption of health education including evaluation and teacher training needs.
- Assist with developing culturally relevant education materials to inform students about health promotion and disease prevention, determining needs by student grade level.
- Assist with coordination and evaluation of Sports, Play and Active Recreation for Kids (SPARKS) encompassing school administration support, wellness coordinators, etc, and performs other duties assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Development of school health programs and curricula related to health problems and disease prevention, current health issues, health status, and teacher training needs. Evaluation of physical activity programs and fitness testing. Knowledge of public health concepts. Effectively interact with a schools, teachers, and community members in coordinating Sports, Play, and Active Recreation for Kids (SPARK) or similar programs. Collecting patient demographics. Use of computers, software applications, and database.,
- One full year of graduate education or a master's degree meets the requirement for GS-7. Graduate education or an internship meets the specialized experience required above GS-5 only in those instances where it is directly related to the work of the position. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement.
