You will manage multiple project teams and Cabling Managers, coordinate with stakeholders, and drive project performance while maintaining high standards of workmanship and compliance. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in cabling infrastructure, and the ability to independently manage large-scale projects in dynamic environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee multiple cabling projects or one large-scale program, ensuring delivery within schedule, labor, and material budgets
- Supervise and provide direction to Cabling Managers, Supervisors, and project teams across multiple job sites
- Monitor project performance, including cost, schedule, productivity, and P&L margins to meet or exceed estimates
- Ensure quality of workmanship, safety compliance, and proper documentation across all projects
- Conduct regular quality and safety observations and enforce corrective actions as needed
- Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders on project scope, schedules, and technical requirements
- Develop and deliver detailed project status reports including financials, progress, productivity, and risks
- Identify and implement work-around solutions to maintain productivity during delays or disruptions
- Manage contract execution, including negotiations with subcontractors and vendors
- Direct and manage scope changes, ensuring proper documentation, approval, and implementation of change orders
- Perform site surveys for estimating, proposal development, and quality assurance activities
- Develop Statements of Work (SOW), project estimates, and resource plans
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and on-the-job training to technicians and junior staff
- Ensure adherence to installation standards and company policies
- Enforce and promote a comprehensive safety program across all project sites
- Strong experience managing structured cabling projects, including copper, fiber, and infrastructure installations
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, teams, and priorities simultaneously
- Strong understanding of project management principles including scheduling, budgeting, and risk management
- Experience reading and interpreting RFPs, blueprints, specifications, and contractual documents
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with P&L tracking, cost estimation, and resource planning
- Ability to develop detailed Statements of Work and project estimates
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to supervise large teams (30–70 personnel)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with clients and stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions in fast-paced environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop solutions to maintain project productivity
- Must have fourteen (14) years of combined experience and/or education in a related field
- A master’s degree may substitute for six (6) years of experience
- A bachelor’s degree may substitute for four (4) years of experience
- An associate’s degree may substitute for two (2) years of experience
- Degree must be in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Systems Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Project Management
- Experience managing large-scale cabling or infrastructure projects preferred
- Experience working with subcontractors, vendors, and multi-disciplinary teams preferred
- Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
