Duties

• Conduct outdoor canvassing by walking door-to-door within assigned neighborhoods to introduce our organization’s initiatives.
• Engage in conversational interactions with residents, clearly explaining the purpose of outreach efforts and answering questions effectively.
• Utilize mobile devices to record interactions, gather contact information, and track outreach progress accurately.
• Promote community engagement by fostering trust and rapport with residents through friendly and professional face-to-face communication.
• Identify potential supporters or clients and negotiate opportunities for further involvement or service sign-ups.
• Maintain a positive attitude while handling rejection gracefully and staying motivated to meet outreach goals.
• Support fundraising efforts by encouraging donations or participation in events when applicable.

Requirements

• Proven experience in field sales, canvassing, or outdoor marketing is preferred; however, strong interpersonal skills are essential.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage in meaningful conversations and adapt messaging for diverse audiences.
• Prior experience in customer service, telemarketing, or community engagement is advantageous.
• Ability to walk for extended periods outdoors in various weather conditions using transportation methods such as walking or biking.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus to connect with a broader range of community members effectively.
• Demonstrated experience supervising or leading teams is beneficial but not mandatory; leadership qualities are valued.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to use mobile devices for data collection and reporting.
