Sleeper Behavioral Health Technician

Independent Life Company is seeking a dependable and responsible Sleeper Behavioral Health Technician to support our overnight residential program. This position is designed for individuals who can sleep on-site during overnight hours and assist with morning routines, client wake-ups, and medication administration as needed. This role is ideal for students or individuals seeking overnight housing-style work with light morning responsibilities.

Job Description
The Sleeper Behavioral Health Technician remains on-site overnight while residents are sleeping and assists with morning transitions. This role does not require staying awake throughout the night but does require responsiveness in the event of an emergency. In the morning, the sleeper staff will assist with waking residents, supporting morning routines, and administering medications per protocol.
Essential Duties
- Remain on-site overnight while residents sleep
- Be available to respond to emergencies or unexpected needs during the night
- Assist with morning wake-ups and ensure residents begin their day on schedule
- Administer morning medications in accordance with program protocols and training
- Provide light supervision during early morning routines
- Communicate relevant overnight or morning observations to incoming staff
- Follow all program policies, safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements
Qualification Requirements – No Exceptions
- Must be 20 years of age or older
- Must be able to pass an FBI background check and drug screening
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must have a current and valid driver's license
- Prior experience in behavioral health or residential care is preferred but not required
Training Provided
- Medication Administration Training
- First Aid & CPR Certification
- Mandt Crisis Intervention Training
- Trauma-Informed Care Education
- Program-specific onboarding and support
Compensation
- Pay: $10.00 per hour
- Part-Time or Contract availability
- Supportive, team-oriented work environment
