Schedule: Saturday and Sunday 5PM-12AM
Please note: Caregivers may have the opportunity to accept additional clients or shifts to increase their total hours.
Job Summary:
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) plays a vital role in supporting the clinical team by providing compassionate, hands-on care to patients under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. The PCA is responsible for assisting with daily living activities, maintaining patient hygiene, and ensuring a safe and clean healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding..
- Report changes in patient condition to nursing staff promptly.
- Help with patient mobility: repositioning, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and safety techniques.
- Assist with transportation of patients.
- Maintain clean and sanitary patient rooms, equipment, and work areas.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and families.
- Ensure patient safety through fall prevention and use of appropriate safety equipment.
- Adhere to infection control and HIPAA guidelines.
- Document care provided and tasks completed accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
