We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide patient care and monitor vital signs to ensure the well-being of individuals.
- Support clients in community integration and social activities, fostering independence and social skills.
- Implement care plans tailored to each individual's needs, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with medication administration as required, maintaining accurate records.
- Engage in patient observation to identify changes in behavior or health status.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment through regular cleaning tasks.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' mental well-being.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and family members to coordinate care.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR is essential; certifications are a plus.
- Previous experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or hospice care is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with memory care and dementia care practices is beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- A background in caregiving, home health, or long-term care is advantageous.
- Understanding of patient monitoring techniques and vital sign assessment is preferred.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
