Position: Executive Director

Reports to: Regional Executive Director/Vice President/President

Summary

The Executive Director oversees all aspects of Center Operations, including management and oversite of Guest and Staff scheduling, performing an assessment and completing the documentation, Guest/at-home caregiver communication, performing tours and other marketing duties, learning the food program to perform oversight and management of all kitchen operations, running the transportation program, overseeing the lifestyle enrichment program, ensuring all documentation is present and accurate for billing purposes, regulatory compliance, and staff development. The ED position is a demanding leadership role. A successful candidate will be willing and able to perform the duties of any position in the Center (excluding those requiring medical licensure) and work tirelessly to support the Center staff in delivering the best possible care to our Guests.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee all aspects of Center operations.
  • Inform ED and/or Home Office leadership of relevant issues, incidents, and occurrences.
  • Model IADCC Policy of Courtesy and Respect in all interactions with staff, Guests, and visitors.
  • Lead/Manage Lifestyle Enrichment Director. Ensure that Activities Program is scheduled and carried out according to IADCC standards. Provide oversight and guidance to LED's management of Guest Staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, discipline, and development. Provide LED with coaching, performance reviews, training, and development.
  • Lead/Manage Drivers. Hire new drivers and provide training in Guest interaction, safety procedures, navigation/routing software, and vehicle maintenance. Manage driver shifts and hours. Oversee daily route planning and record keeping. Carry out Driver Performance reviews, development, and discipline.
  • Lead/Manage Administrative Assistants ('AA's'). Hire new AA's and provide training in software systems, and IADCC standards and procedures, including customer service, communications, and scheduling. Conduct AA performance reviews, development, and discipline. Ensure accurate record keeping.
  • Lead/Manage Kitchen Manager. Hire/train/develop Kitchen Manager. Ensure compliance with IADCC meal program and health regulations. Supervise ordering, inventory management, and record keeping.
  • Lead tours of Center for prospective Guests, outside professionals, and other visitors.
  • Conduct assessments of prospective Guests and facilitate the intake process for new Guests. Ensure all staff are aware of all new Guest's care plan and needs prior to start date.
  • Market to industry professionals. Provide information about IADCC programs, services, and benefits in order to encourage referrals.
  • Ensure thorough, accurate, timely documentation, and record keeping, including staff hours, Guest attendance, Guest profiles, Guest/caregiver communication, payor authorizations, care delivery, inquiries and follow-up, and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in core training and maintain certification of required trainings.
  • Provide crisis intervention and access emergency services as needed.
  • Lead staff meetings.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree; Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
  • Supervisory experience in an adult day center or other health related facility
  • Direct care experience working with elderly and/or adults diagnosed with Intellectual Disabilities preferred
  • A valid driver's license in state of residence
  • Qualifying criminal background and driving record
  • Must be able to demonstrate competence in certain areas of training including but not limited to CPR, First Aid, non-violent physical interventions, behavior management, and driving
  • Ability to react to situations, i.e., rescue, preventing a resident from harming themselves

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects/people with or without assistance. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to use general office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, telephones, etc. Housekeeping duties such as cleaning, cooking, snow shoveling, etc. The employee may be required to drive IADCC vehicles, operate wheelchair lifts and employ safety restraints. The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions.
