Senior / Staff Software Engineer (Medical Imaging & Radiology Platforms)
The Mission & The Client
I am currently representing a scaling pioneer in the medical imaging and radiology space that is transforming how clinicians interact with diagnostic data. Their platforms process massive volumes of complex clinical scans daily, directly reducing diagnostic turnaround times for life-threatening conditions.
They are expanding their core software division and have retained us to find a Senior or Staff Software Engineer who wants to own the architecture and integration of high-performance radiology platforms.
The Technical Challenge & Stack
This is a highly specialized engineering role. You will work with complex, multi-modal volumetric clinical datasets and design systems that interface directly with real-time hospital workflows.
- High-performance software integrated alongside hospital PACS, RIS, and secure enterprise clinical environments.
- Multi-terabyte scale, highly variable 3D medical data (CT, MRI, X-Ray) requiring advanced DICOM pixel routing and orchestration.
- Python, Go, C , Docker, AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Microservices architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust, low-latency software solutions for processing, storing, and visualizing complex medical imaging data.
- Build and maintain reliable ingestion pipelines that seamlessly interface with hospital PACS, RIS, and VNA architectures.
- Ensure seamless healthcare data exchange across systems utilizing DICOM, HL7, and FHIR standards.
- Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure software verification, validation, and documentation align with FDA 510(k) and medical device safety regulations.
Candidate Profile
To be successful in this process, you must possess a proven track record within regulated MedTech, digital health, or clinical imaging environments.
- 4 years of dedicated software engineering experience within a regulated medical imaging or healthcare technology environment.
- Absolute fluency with DICOM standards, metadata manipulation, and medical image rendering/routing pipelines.
- Elite software engineering fundamentals (OOP, concurrency, distributed systems) combined with modern cloud/container architecture (Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native APIs).
- Hands-on experience working with healthcare integration engines or data standards (HL7, FHIR, Mirth Connect).
