Summary

The CBDS Floor Manager is responsible for managing direct care services in the CBDS program. This position is considered in-ratio and is expected to provide direct supports to individuals on a regular basis, and to train and mentor staff using role modeling and direct observation of staff and individuals. Responsible for assisting with assessment, treatment, planning process and follow-up for all individuals in the CBDS program while ensuring the highest quality of documentation and efficient communication across all departments and external sources.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and organize daily program operations, including planning community-based activities, developing and maintaining skill room schedules, and ensuring staff are prepared with materials, assignments, and understanding of the day’s activities.
  • Be active and visible on the program floor during program hours, assisting individuals and supporting CBDS Specialists as needed.
  • Serve as a member of the CBDS management team, supporting overall program operations.
  • Act as a communication liaison between direct care staff and program management regarding day-to-day operations.
  • Provide input to the Program Manager for assigning Direct Care staff according to their skills and experience.
  • Participate in daily morning meetings and weekly staff meetings; attend individual meetings as necessary.
  • Support the development and implementation of Individual Service Plans (ISPs).
  • Assist in the implementation and oversight of behavior support strategies and treatment plans.
  • In collaboration with internal and external clinical resources, manage, implement, and model universal and individualized positive behavior support plans.
  • Actively participate in interventions, providing positive, knowledgeable support to staff, ensuring crisis plans are followed, and supporting skill development.
  • Conduct formal observations of individuals (both face-to-face and remotely) to collect baseline and other data for assessment purposes.
  • Train staff in behavioral treatment plan implementation and data documentation of ISP goals, objectives, and clinical protocols; oversee daily data collection processes.
  • Work in collaboration with the clinical department to ensure sound clinical programming and facilitate staff training based on clinical recommendations.
  • Support recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of CBDS Direct Care staff, including performance management, goal setting, and mentoring.
  • Provide timely and constructive performance feedback to the CBDS Program Manager for inclusion in annual evaluations.
  • In collaboration with the CBDS Program Manager, ensure disciplinary issues are addressed within Progressive Discipline Policy and in coordination with Human Resources.
  • Oversee and support proper medication administration practices.
  • Monitor incident reporting to identify support planning needs and ensure accurate documentation of restraint forms, accident reports, and service delivery tracking.
  • Monitor and safeguard the health, well-being, and safety of program participants on-site and in the community; report issues and handle emergencies per agency policies.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of all regulatory requirements, CBDS best practices, and agency policies.
  • Coordinate and maintain ongoing communication with residential providers and other external partners.
  • Serve as a Mandated Reporter as required by the Disabled Persons Protection Commission.
  • Act in a manner consistent with organizational values, agency mission, and service delivery goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the CBDS Program Manager.

Qualifications

High school degree with minimum of 5 years’ experience working with individuals with mental health and/or developmental disabilities and criminal justice involvement. Bachelor's degree in a related field (human services, rehabilitation, psychology, criminal justice) preferred.

Must be flexible and actively demonstrate personal desire to enhance the lives of people with disabilities. Must be able to communicate proficiently both orally and in writing to fulfill the documentation and service needs of the agency.

Transportation of individuals for work purposes. Includes maintaining a current valid driver’s license, minimum age of 21 for transporting individuals, MVR driver’s clearance

Must pass and maintain required certification programs, including but not limited to the following: PABC (Proactive Approaches to Behavioral Challenges), First Aid, and CPR, MAP.

Flexibility to work with any individual(s) assigned who may require varying levels of support, to include but not limited to, behavioral interventions (may include physical and verbal interventions) and personal care assistance (toileting, eating, etc.).

Maintain a flexible work schedule based on the needs of the job. May include backup staffing as needed during operation hours.

Flexibility to work in all program areas of the agency, accepting internal transfers on a temporary or regular basis based on the needs of the agency and individuals supported as assigned by management personnel.

Mastery of the English language required as demonstrated by the ability to read and write instructions; ability to read, analyze, and interpret legal documents, field journals, financial reports, technical procedures, policy/procedure manuals and government regulations. Ability to comprehend and follow verbal/written instructions. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from participants, families, regulatory agencies or the general public. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures and effectively present information to senior management. Ability to effectively facilitate meetings in both face-to-face and remote modalities.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
