Position: Staff Accountant, Finance (Accounts Payable)
The Staff Accountant will support a broad range of accounting and finance activities, including employee expense reimbursements, corporate card administration, month-end close responsibilities, reconciliations, and financial reporting support. This individual will work closely with the Assistant Controller and Finance team to maintain strong internal controls, improve operational efficiency, and support ongoing system and process enhancement initiatives.
The position offers significant exposure to accounting operations and finance processes across the organization and requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and motivated to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Summary of essential job functions:
Expense Management & Corporate Cards
Review and process employee expense reports in accordance with firm policies.
Administer corporate card programs and reconcile card activity.
Research and resolve coding, documentation, and policy-related exceptions.
Partner with employees and managers to ensure timely submission and approval of expenses.
Assist with the continued implementation and enhancement of finance technology platforms, including Concur, Ramp, and Sage Intacct.
Accounting & Month-End Close
Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules.
Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances.
Support month-end close processes.
Assist with preparation of financial reports and management analyses.
Maintain organized accounting documentation and records.
Accounts Payable Support & Operational Finance
Provide coverage and support for accounts payable processes as needed.
Assist with vendor maintenance, payment administration, and related controls.
Support cash management and bank reconciliation activities.
Assist with accounting for corporate card, AP, and employee reimbursement transactions.
Compliance, Controls & Audit
Support external audit requests.
Assist with quarterly reporting and compliance requirements.
Maintain and enhance process documentation, checklists, and internal controls.
Process Improvement & Automation
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve data quality.
Participate in system implementations, testing, and enhancement initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve finance-related processes.
Contribute to projects focused on automation, efficiency, and scalability.
Key Competencies:

Experience with accounting systems (Sage Intacct preferred).
Experience with expense management or corporate card platforms (Concur or Ramp preferred).

Demonstrated interest in process improvement, systems, and automation.
Education Requirement:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
1-3 years of accounting or finance experience.

In addition to the opportunity to participate in a discretionary bonus program, the salary range below describes the estimated minimum to maximum base salary range for a position of this level. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each candidate and may vary based upon but not limited to relevant experience, licensure requirements, certifications, skill set, and other business and organizational needs.
Base Salary Range:
$70,000-80,000
Annual Performance Bonus:
This role is eligible for an annual performance-based bonus

IR M operates in a hybrid model. This role requires on-site presence 3 days a week.
