1:1 School-based Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Anaheim, CA- 1 elementary school site
Hours: 6 hours/day, 30 hours/week, Monday to Friday (Weds short day- tentatively 7:45pm-1:45pm). Also includes bus riding.

Duration: Start ASAP to June 6th, 2025.

Caseload: 1:1 for student in wheelchair and is Trach/Vent dependent, has Gtube feeds, has oxygen when needed.

Pay: $42

Job Description:

This role involves providing direct support to students with medical or behavioral needs, collaborating with educators and families, and ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor students' health conditions, administer medications, and provide emergency care as needed (RN-specific).
• Implement and oversee Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and collaborate with educational teams (RN-specific).
• Provide direct behavioral support, crisis intervention, and social-emotional skill development.
• Work closely with teachers, parents, and support staff to create inclusive educational experiences.
• Maintain detailed documentation of interventions, care, and student progress.

Qualifications:

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN).
• Active California RN license required.
• Experience in pediatrics or school nursing required.
• Experience with a trach/vent required. Vent certified highly preferred.
• Experience with NG tubes.
• Experience working with children or students with special needs is highly desirable.
