What are the responsibilities and job description for the Division Controller position at Incendia Partners?
The Opportunity
My client is looking for a sharp, hands-on Controller to own financial reporting and accounting operations at their Medford manufacturing facility. This is a high-impact role sitting at the intersection of finance and operations — you'll be a true business partner to leadership, not just a scorekeeper. If you thrive in a manufacturing environment, love turning complex financial data into clear decisions, and take pride in building strong teams and tighter controls, this role is built for you.
What You'll Do
Drive the Close & Reporting Cycle
Lead the monthly and period-end close process end-to-end — journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and operating statistical reports — with precision and on deadline, every time.
Be a Strategic Business Partner
Work closely with Operations and Sales leadership to deliver financial analysis and actionable insights that improve efficiency, support pricing decisions, and advance financial objectives.
Own Product Costing & Variance Analysis
Develop and maintain robust standard cost models, conduct variance analysis, and produce reporting that informs profitability, production decisions, and long-range planning.
Strengthen Controls & Processes
Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes, internal controls, and procedures — with particular focus on purchase activity, production usage, manufacturing costs, and inventory management.
Lead Budgeting & Forecasting
Collaborate on annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial plans; prepare insightful analysis to guide resource allocation and track performance against targets.
Ensure Compliance & Audit Readiness
Prepare year-end audit work papers, support external auditors, and ensure timely completion of tax returns and all regulatory and government filings.
Track What Matters
Monitor and report key operating metrics, oversee monthly physical inventories, and enforce procedural compliance across the operation.
Develop Your Team
Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing accounting team. Build a collaborative culture where people do their best work.
What You Bring
This is not a back-office position. You'll have real visibility, real influence, and a real seat at the table in a stable, growing manufacturing business. You'll inherit a solid foundation and have genuine room to build on it — improving systems, developing talent, and making your mark on the financial operations of a facility that produces tangible results.
This position is on-site in Medford, Oregon. Candidates must be able to work from the facility full-time.
