Sr Accountant

Position: Sr Accountant

Compensation: $130,000 - $160,000 annually, depending on experience

Location: Houston, TX

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Sr Accountant to join their team!

In this role, you’ll be a key contributor, bringing your accounting expertise to support a variety of functions. You’ll take the lead on technical accounting research, prepare accruals, and manage intercompany journal entries for our trading and cargo operations. You’ll also play an important part in group reporting, ensuring accurate and timely accounting across the business.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Prepare monthly derivative journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare financial statement disclosures under IFRS for derivatives
• Reconcile intercompany accounts and resolve discrepancies
• Record various financial transactions and maintain financial records
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages
• Respond to inquiries from internal and external auditors
• Conduct regular financial account reconciliations
• Provide technical accounting support and resolve complex issues
• Review new contracts and advise on accounting treatment

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5 years of experience in commodity accounting
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP and IFRS
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to organize data in Excel and perform quantitative analysis

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• CPA certification
• Understanding of commodity markets and accounting for financial instruments
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA
