Cost Accounting Manager

Position: Cost Accounting Manager

Compensation: $145,000 - $165,000 annually, depending on experience

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Cost Accounting Manager to join their team!

Join a dynamic company in the oil and gas sector as a Cost Accounting Manager, where you'll lead key accounting functions and collaborate with various departments to drive financial insights and improvements. This role offers the chance to lead a high-performing team and make a significant impact on operational efficiency and cost management.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Lead cost accounting activities for upstream operations
• Oversee Accounts Payable and Joint Interest Billing teams
• Ensure accurate cost allocation and capitalization
• Review and approve cost-related journal entries
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies
• Support close processes for operational accounts
• Oversee JIB billings and audits
• Conduct cost and variance analysis
• Develop reports and dashboards for cost visibility
• Identify and implement process improvements

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 7 years of progressive accounting experience
• Leadership experience managing accounting teams
• Strong understanding of GAAP and joint interest accounting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• CPA or CMA designation
• Public accounting experience
• Experience with oil and gas ERP systems
• Familiarity with reporting automation or SQL
• Prior experience leading managers or senior accountants
