Civil Designer

Position: Civil Designer

Compensation: $25 - $38 /hour

Location: Wallingford, Connecticut

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Assist in designing various civil projects including site design and land development
  
• Contribute to drawing production work and design layout
  
• Analyze reports, maps, and geologic data for project planning
  
• Apply design codes and specifications in projects
  
• Organize and maintain project drawings and information
  
• Compute volume calculations for site grading and excavation
  
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers
  
• Complete design drawings within scope, budget, and schedule
  
  
  

  Required Qualifications & Experience:

  
  
  
  
  
  • Bachelor's Degree in drafting technology or related field
    
  • 2 years of related experience required
    
  • Proficiency in design software: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Excel
    
  • Basic knowledge of civil discipline and design systems
    
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Assist in designing various civil projects including site design and land development
      
    • Participate in designing roads, storm drainage, and water management systems
      
    • Support initial rough designs and mark-ups on ongoing projects
      
    • Interpret and apply design codes and specifications
      
      
      

      Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

      
      
      
      
      
      • Experience with traffic control and airport facility design
        
      • Understanding of sediment and erosion control
        
      • Familiarity with water and sanitary sewer utility design
