Role Snapshot
Looking for a hands-on AWS Data Architect to build and scale enterprise data platforms for a wealth management client. This role requires deep AWS expertise, strong data engineering skills, and experience handling regulated financial data environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement AWS data lake / warehouse architectures
- Build batch & real-time pipelines (PySpark, Glue, EMR, Kinesis)
- Architect secure, compliant data solutions (PII, financial data)
- Optimize Redshift, Spark workloads, and cost-performance
- Implement data governance (Lake Formation, lineage, auditability)
- Drive CDC, streaming, and event-driven architectures
- Hands-on development using Python, SQL, PySpark
- Lead architecture while actively contributing to build/debug
Must-Have Skills
- 15 years in Data Engineering / Architecture
- Strong AWS stack: S3, Redshift, Glue, EMR, Kinesis, Lambda
- Advanced Python PySpark SQL
- Experience with real-time pipelines & CDC
- Strong data modeling (dimensional, OLAP)
- Exposure to financial/wealth management systems
- DevOps: Terraform/CloudFormation, CI/CD
Nice to Have
- AWS Certifications (SA Pro / Data Analytics Specialty)
