What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inboard Boat technician position at Inboard Shop?
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Inboard Boat Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing marine systems on a variety of inboard-powered boats, including ski boats, wake boats, cruisers, and yachts. This position requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair inboard marine engines.
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, tune-ups, impeller replacements, winterizations, and annual services.
- Troubleshoot and repair marine electrical systems, including batteries, charging systems, lighting, gauges, and accessories.
- Diagnose and repair cooling, fuel, steering, and drivetrain systems.
- Remove, install, and align engines, transmissions, prop shafts, struts, and running gear.
- Perform inspections and create repair recommendations for customers.
- Install marine accessories and aftermarket equipment.
- Conduct water testing when necessary to verify repairs and performance.
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts documentation.
- Ensure all work is completed according to manufacturer specifications and company quality standards.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Assist other technicians and departments as needed.
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
