Job Summary
The Mechanical Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing mechanical construction projects, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and related systems. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end mechanical construction projects from pre-construction to closeout
- Oversee installation of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical systems
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
- Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and clients
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical documents for accuracy and compliance
- Monitor project progress and resolve issues related to design, materials, or labor
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations, building codes, and company standards
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure quality control
- Manage procurement of materials and equipment
- Prepare and present project reports, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships
- Lead project meetings and communicate updates to stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 5 years of experience in mechanical construction project management
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Primavera P6)
- Understanding of building codes, OSHA regulations, and safety standards
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
- Experience in commercial, industrial, or multifamily construction projects
- LEED certification or sustainability experience
- Background working with mechanical contractors or MEP firms
