Automation Project Manager

Position: Automation Project Manager

Location: Charleston, SC

Contract Duration: 6-month Contract to hire

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead automation and system integration projects from concept development through installation, commissioning, and production launch.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Manage CAPEX and OPEX budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, quality, maintenance, safety, and external suppliers.
• Scope and implement automated manufacturing lines, robotic systems, and production equipment.
• Oversee equipment installation, system integration, FAT/SAT activities, and launch readiness.
• Manage supplier and integrator performance, technical deliverables, and project execution.
• Ensure all equipment and processes comply with company, OSHA, RIA, and applicable safety standards.
• Drive achievement of throughput, quality, safety, and productivity targets.
• Support production ramp-up, issue resolution, and successful transition of systems to plant operations.

Must Haves:

• 5 years of Project Management experience in industrial automation, manufacturing automation, or system integration environments
• Experience managing automation projects within the automotive industry
• Proven experience leading installation and launch of new production equipment and automated manufacturing lines
• Strong understanding of industrial automation technologies, robotics, controls, and manufacturing systems
• Experience managing capital projects and CAPEX/OPEX budgets.
• Strong leadership, communication, vendor management, and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Automation, Manufacturing, or related STEM field
• Ability to work hybrid onsite in Charleston, SC with some travel as necessary
