Job Title: Maintenance Lead
Location: Warwick, RI
Position Summary
The Maintenance Lead is responsible for overseeing the maintenance department, including all electrical and mechanical repairs across the plant. This role combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on maintenance work. The Maintenance Lead ensures efficient work distribution, supervises maintenance staff, manages vendor relationships in the absence of the manager, and supports overall plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all mechanical and electrical repairs for plant equipment
- Assign and schedule maintenance tasks based on priority and team skillsets
- Provide leadership, technical guidance, and training to maintenance staff
- Monitor employee performance to ensure quality and efficiency
- Develop and manage maintenance department schedules
- Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
- Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback
- Train team members on required maintenance tasks and procedures
- Prioritize tasks based on urgency and operational impact
- Lead and support machinery installation and plant projects
- Implement and improve maintenance policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards
- Track and report department and plant performance metrics
- Order parts and manage vendor relationships as needed
- Participate in safety meetings and management discussions
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Prior experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance
