Position Overview
A major energy generation facility is seeking a Nuclear Project Support Coordinator to assist with maintenance, outage, and operational project activities within a highly regulated nuclear environment. This role supports coordination efforts tied to plant maintenance, outage execution, scheduling, budgeting, vendor communication, and project tracking.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience supporting operations, maintenance, or project activities within commercial nuclear power plants or DOE nuclear facilities. Candidates whose experience is limited to medical, laboratory, or research radiation settings will not be considered.
This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and comfort working in fast-paced outage and maintenance environments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with coordination of maintenance, outage, and operational projects within the plant
- Support outage planning activities including refueling outages, forced outages, and scheduled maintenance work
- Track schedules, milestones, labor resources, and project progress
- Help monitor project costs, budgets, forecasting, and material needs
- Coordinate procurement activities and vendor communication
- Support development and review of maintenance and work execution packages
- Participate in ALARA and nuclear safety planning activities
- Maintain compliance with nuclear, industrial, and plant safety procedures
- Prepare project reports, status updates, and execution documentation
- Work closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and contractor teams
- Assist with outage coordination center activities during active outage periods
- Identify scheduling conflicts and support resolution planning efforts
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience within commercial nuclear generation or DOE nuclear environments
- Familiarity with outage coordination, maintenance planning, or project support activities
- Understanding of ALARA principles and nuclear work practices
- Strong coordination, communication, and organizational abilities
- Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously in a regulated environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP or Construction Management certification
- Experience supporting refueling outages or online maintenance activities
- Familiarity with human performance improvement programs and error reduction practices
- Prior experience supporting engineering, maintenance, or operations organizations
Education & Experience
Candidates must meet one of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or related field with 1 year of relevant experience
- Associate degree with 3 years of related experience
- High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of applicable technical or project support experience
