Duties
- Assist with activities of daily living (dementia) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen
- Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans to ensure proper patient care
- Engage children and seniors in stimulating activities that promote mental and emotional well-being
- Maintain a clean, safe environment through regular cleaning, sanitation, and organization of living spaces
- Provide companionship and emotional support, especially for individuals with dementia or developmental disabilities such as Alzheimer's disease
Skills
- Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, or long-term care environments
- Knowledge of patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, and basic nursing skills including CPR and first aid certification
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges
- Ability to assist with mobility using Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices safely
- Strong observational skills to monitor patient condition and respond promptly to emergencies
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, healthcare teams, and residents
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and supporting active caregiving tasks while maintaining compassion and patience
