A respected Cleveland‑based law firm is seeking a Construction Associate with 2–3 years of experience to join its growing Construction Practice Group. This role offers strong mentorship, meaningful client exposure, and the opportunity to work on sophisticated matters across commercial, industrial, and public‑sector projects.
Role Overview
The Construction Associate will support a busy practice handling both transactional and litigation‑related construction matters. This includes contract drafting and negotiation, project documentation, dispute resolution, and advising clients throughout the project lifecycle.
This is an in‑office position in Cleveland with a collaborative team and a strong pipeline of work.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, subcontracts, and project agreements
- Assist with construction litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and mediation/arbitration preparation
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on construction‑related issues
- Support clients with project administration, change orders, claims, and risk management
- Work closely with partners and senior attorneys on complex matters
- Manage deadlines, client communication, and matter workflow
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of construction law experience (transactional, litigation, or mixed)
- Strong drafting skills and familiarity with construction contracts and project documentation
- Experience with construction disputes, discovery, or motion practice preferred
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical abilities
- Ability to manage multiple matters and work in a fast‑paced environment
- Ohio Bar required (or ability to waive in)
