Position Overview: In Depth Inc. is seeking a highly capable and hands-on Shop Foreman to lead and manage the maintenance, repair, and readiness of our specialized fleets and equipment. This is not a typical shop position—your work supports commercial diving and marine construction operations across Florida, requiring a well-rounded individual with mechanical expertise, leadership ability, and a strong understanding of demanding field environments.
We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, thrives in a fast-paced and unconventional industry, and understands the importance of reliability when supporting critical infrastructure and underwater operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily shop operations, ensuring all equipment is maintained, organized, and deployment-ready
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel trucks, trailers, boats / barges, dive equipment and heavy-duty equipment / machinery
- Service and troubleshoot dive systems including air compressors, filtration systems, and support equipment
- Perform welding and fabrication for repairs, modifications, and custom builds
- Manage preventative maintenance schedules for fleet and dive equipment
- Maintain accurate service records and inventory of parts and materials
- Coordinate with Project Managers & Dive Supervisors to prioritize repairs and ensure operational readiness
- Enforce safety standards and maintain a clean, efficient shop environment
- Service and repair hydraulic tools, power units, cylinders, and equipment
- Heavy / Industrial machinery maintenance service and repairs as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical background with hands-on experience in diesel engines, trailers, boats / barges and hydraulic systems
- Proficiency in welding and fabrication (MIG, TIG, Stick preferred)
- Experience working with air compressors and industrial equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and equipment issues independently
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
- Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills
- Willingness to work extended hours when required to support operations
- Microsoft Office 365 / Computer software familiarity and experience
- Exceptional record-keeping (up to ADCI standards)
Preferred (Not Required, but Highly Valued):
- Experience in the commercial diving or marine construction industry
- Familiarity with surface-supplied dive systems and support equipment
- Knowledge of DOT compliance and fleet management
- Experience managing a shop or leading a team
