Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Support medication administration in accordance with proper protocols and documentation procedures.
- Safely operate manual handling equipment, such as Hoyer lifts, to assist with transfers and help prevent injury, if required.
- Engage individuals in meaningful activities, social interaction, and appropriate behavioral support strategies.
- Maintain cleanliness of individuals’ living areas and common spaces to promote hygiene, comfort, and safety.
- Follow individual rights policies and maintain respectful, compassionate communication at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass a Level 2 background screening.
- Prior in-home care experience preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual, developmental, or cognitive disabilities is highly valued.
- Ability to operate a standard passenger vehicle for community outings or appointments, when necessary.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals, families, and team members.
- Ability to perform physical duties associated with caregiving, including lifting and safe transfer assistance.
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures and vital-sign monitoring is a plus.
