Implementation Specialist (Part-Time)

$25–$35 / hour · Part-Time / Contract · Path to full-time salaried position

At IMSYS, we resolve operational challenges by applying cutting-edge technology to real-world scenarios. Our mission is to empower organizations with cost-effective, user-friendly, and maintainable solutions across Video Surveillance and Video Analytics, Access Control, Asset Tracking, and Inventory Control. As we grow, we're looking for a part-time Implementation Specialist to join our team — a role with strong potential to grow into a full-time salaried position with bonus and commission opportunities.

Job Summary

As an Implementation Specialist, you'll support both technical and field operations — learning, testing, installing, integrating, and deploying our hardware and software solutions. You'll work hands-on at customer sites installing and commissioning systems, and partner closely with our team to ensure clean, on-time, on-budget implementations. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys solving problems in the field and wants to build toward a full-time career in security and operational technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and terminate hardware including video surveillance cameras, access control devices, RFID readers, and door controllers.
  • Pull and dress data cabling, drill and mount equipment, and install conduit, power supplies, strike plates, and mag locks.
  • Set up, configure, and troubleshoot server software, client software, and mobile devices in the field.
  • Configure and maintain LAN connectivity and manage network devices on site.
  • Conduct on-site troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Implement and commission systems within project timelines and budgets.
  • Identify and document business requirements that influence product configuration and installation.
  • Develop a working understanding of relevant product technologies, including RFID and intelligent video.
  • Provide end-user support and respond to trouble tickets in line with customer service-level agreements.
  • Collaborate with Project Management to ensure systems are operational and customers are satisfied.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant hands-on experience, or equivalent technical training.
  • Capable and willing to work at heights, including climbing ladders.
  • Willingness to obtain scissor lift certification as project needs require.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, climb stairs/ladders, and work in tight or uncomfortable positions.
  • Experience pulling data cables, drilling, and installing conduit; experience installing door controllers and readers is a plus.
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals (Ethernet, TCP/IP) and basic computer hardware troubleshooting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to travel locally and regionally; most travel is regional, with occasional longer trips.
  • Readiness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Valid state driver's license with a satisfactory driving record, and ability to pass a background check.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen due to the nature of our customer base; veterans are encouraged to apply.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with security system implementations, including video surveillance and access control.
  • Experience with video management systems (VMS).
  • Understanding of RFID technology.
  • Prior technical support or help desk experience.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing and remote connectivity (VPN).
