Overview:One of our client seeking a licensed and experienced Speech Language Pathologist for a full-time temporary assignment supporting medically complex acute care patients. Due to the high-acuity environment, the ideal candidate must have strong clinical experience managing medically fragile and dysphagia-related cases. Required QualificationsLicensure & Verification· Valid Speech Language Pathologist license issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED)· Primary Source License Verification required· BLS certification preferred Clinical Experience· Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience required· 1 year of prior Speech Clinician/SLP clinical practice· Strong experience treating medically complex and medically fragile patients Specialized Skills· Dysphagia clinical competency required· Dysphagia training and/or certification· Dysphagia management in acute care setting· Dysphagia screening and instrumental exam interpretation (preferred)· Swallowing therapy, bedside assessment, diet recommendations· Medically complex case management· Dysphagia intervention planning· Dysphagia care coordination· Dysphagia patient and caregiver education· Dysphagia treatment and therapeutic feeding· Dysphagia clinical documentation proficiency· Instrumental dysphagia evaluation support experience (preferred) Other Competencies· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills· Ability to work independently in fast-paced clinical environments· Team collaboration and high clinical judgment in emergencies or complex cases Education· Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders· All candidates must hold a valid NYSED license — no exceptions
