Monitor Technician (Monitor Tech)

Job SummaryWe are hiring a skilled Monitor Technician to support the clinical team in the Med/Surg (Medical-Surgical) Unit through continuous cardiac monitoring and accurate reporting of patient rhythms and vital signs. The ideal candidate has acute care experience and strong knowledge of EKG interpretation to ensure timely detection of abnormalities in a high-paced hospital setting. Key Responsibilities·       Perform continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring for patients in the Med/Surg unit.·       Interpret and analyze EKG/telemetry readings, identifying arrhythmias and abnormalities.·       Promptly communicate critical rhythm changes to nursing and medical staff.·       Assist in collecting and documenting vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, and temperature.·       Maintain accurate patient records and real-time charting in monitoring systems.·       Ensure proper function and electrode placement of telemetry equipment.·       Collaborate with nurses and physicians to promote patient safety and quality care.·       Adhere to departmental protocols, patient confidentiality (HIPAA), and safety standards. Required Skills & Experience·       1 year of acute care experience in a hospital or similar clinical setting·       Experience with vital signs monitoring·       Strong ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and EKG strips·       Excellent communication, observation, and escalation skills·       Ability to work effectively under pressure with clinical teams Education·       High School Diploma or equivalent required (clinical coursework preferred) Required Certifications·       AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required·       EKG/Telemetry Certification – Required
