Job Title: Industrial Engineer
Department: Operations / Facilities
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Salary: $80,000 – $100,000
Schedule: Full-time, flexible start time (8-hour shift beginning between 6:00 AM – 8:00 AM, Monday–Friday)
Overview
A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an Industrial Engineer to support process optimization and manufacturing excellence initiatives. This role is focused on improving production performance by reducing variation, minimizing non-conformance, increasing throughput, and supporting the development of new and improved processes.
The Industrial Engineer will collaborate cross-functionally with production, engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure equipment, processes, and systems operate efficiently, safely, and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with production and shop floor teams to troubleshoot issues, gather feedback, and implement process improvements
- Lead and support Lean / continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency, quality, and cost reduction
- Execute process improvement projects based on business impact and priority
- Monitor and report on project status through meetings and written updates
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and technical teams both internally and externally
- Assist maintenance teams in supporting production and facility equipment as needed
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports
- Communicate effectively across departments to ensure alignment and project success
- Participate in training, seminars, and industry events as needed
- Support departmental goals and broader operational objectives
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field
- 3–4 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Hands-on experience with PLCs, servo systems, and electrical field devices
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and assembly drawings
Skills & Competencies
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to train and support team members across functions
- Proficiency in interpreting technical documents and procedures
- Solid understanding of basic math, algebra, and geometry concepts
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands for tools or equipment
- Frequent sitting, talking, and listening
- Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
- Visual acuity for both close and distance work, including color differentiation and depth perception
Work Environment
- Manufacturing setting with exposure to moving mechanical parts
- Occasional exposure to airborne particles, chemicals, humidity, and vibration
- Moderate noise levels typical of industrial environments
