Role Description
We are seeking a Senior Bookkeeper / Accounting Manager to help build and lead the foundation of our bookkeeping division.
This is not a traditional bookkeeping role.
You will work directly with leadership to:
- Establish systems
- Manage firm and client financials
- Build scalable processes
- Play a key role in a high-growth initiative
π· Key Responsibilities
π Client Financial Management
- Manage bookkeeping for a portfolio of small to mid-sized business clients
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks Online
- Perform monthly reconciliations (bank, credit cards, loans, etc.)
- Prepare and deliver clean, accurate financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet)
π Monthly Close Process
- Execute a consistent monthly close within 7β10 days
- Identify and correct discrepancies
- Ensure all accounts are reconciled and properly categorized
π§ Financial Insight & Communication
- Review financials and identify trends, issues, and opportunities
- Communicate insights clearly to internal team and clients
- Support tax planning and advisory conversations
βοΈ Systems & Process Development
- Help design and standardize workflows across clients
- Assist in building scalable SOPs for the bookkeeping division
- Implement best practices for efficiency and accuracy
π Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Tax team
- Financial advisors
- Leadership
- Support onboarding of new clients and integration of acquisitions
π This role has a clear path to Controller-level leadership as the division scales.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Financial Statements, Bookkeeping, and accurate Journal Entries (Accounting)
- Extensive experience with Accounting Software and financial systems
- Solid knowledge of Finance principles and practices
- Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- 3 - 5 years experience in a bookkeeping or accounting management role, with a strong track record of financial management and compliance
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with a diverse team
