Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities

Production & Plant Operations

• Oversee daily ice production, packaging, and storage to meet demand and quality standards.
• Manage equipment maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Ensure food safety, sanitation, and plant cleanliness.

Fleet & Distribution

• Oversee delivery routes, dispatch, and customer service.
• Manage fleet maintenance, DOT compliance, inspections, and fuel costs.
• Optimize routes, delivery schedules, and event logistics.

People Leadership

• Hire, train, schedule, and supervise production and delivery teams.
• Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and corrective actions.
• Maintain a professional, safety-focused, customer-first work environment.

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce workplace, equipment, and driver safety procedures.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and food-safety regulations.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.

Financial & Business Management

• Assist with budgets, labor costs, fuel, and maintenance expenses.
• Monitor production, deliveries, efficiency, and operating costs.
• Coordinate with accounting and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of operations or leadership experience in manufacturing, distribution, or related industries.
• Experience managing production teams, drivers, and schedules.
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and food-safety requirements.
• Strong logistics, fleet management, and organizational skills.
• Budgeting and cost analysis experience; QuickBooks preferred.
• Mechanical knowledge preferred; valid driver's license required, CDL a plus.

Working Conditions

• Work in plant, warehouse, delivery, and office environments.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work extended or seasonal hours.
• Available on-call for operational emergencies.

First-Year Expectations

• Maintain reliable production and on-time deliveries.
• Reduce equipment downtime through preventive maintenance.
• Ensure fleet safety and DOT compliance.
• Build a dependable, well-trained team.
• Establish consistent reporting on production, labor, deliveries, and costs.

Imperial Ice is a family-owned packaged-ice manufacturer and distributor operating a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant on 5 acres in West Little Rock, Arkansas. We produce 7 lb and 20 lb bagged ice and 10 lb frozen solid blocks, supported by indoor and outdoor merchandisers, freezer storage and delivery, and event rentals. Service is available 24 hours, 7 days a week. Our customers count on us when supply, timing, and quality cannot be compromised.
