Location: Alma, MI
Type: Direct Hire
We are seeking a highly motivated Quality Engineer to serve as the primary quality contact and support quality assurance processes in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction, compliance with quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Lead APQP and PPAP activities for new and revised programs.
• Act as the primary contact for customer quality issues and resident quality engineers.
• Investigate, track, and resolve customer quality concerns.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to establish inspection and testing requirements.
• Support supplier quality development and qualification activities.
• Develop and maintain Control Plans and quality documentation.
• Analyze quality metrics including Cp, Cpk, PPM, and Cost of Quality.
• Support and conduct internal audits for IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and customer-specific requirements.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions using root cause analysis techniques.
• Provide training and support to production and quality personnel.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of Quality Engineering experience.
• Automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience with APQP and PPAP processes.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 standards.
• Experience with FMEA, PFMEA, SPC, and Control Plans.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Preferred:
• Ford Q1 experience.
• GM BIQS experience.
• ISO 14001 experience.
• Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience.
