Functional ECU & Smart Security Design Engineer
Location: Saline, MI (Onsite)
Duration: 12 Month Contract
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Functional ECU & Smart Security Design Engineer to support the development of vehicle electronic systems and smart security technologies. This role will be responsible for the design, integration, validation, and development of functional Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and smart security components used in modern vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support Functional ECUs including:
- Power Sliding Door ECU
- Power Tailgate ECU
- Seat ECU
- Window ECU
- Sunroof ECU
- Develop and support Smart Security systems including:
- Smart ECU
- Immobilizer Systems
- Vehicle Antennas
- Access Control Systems
- Plan and design vehicle electronic systems based on performance, customer requirements, cost targets, and regulatory compliance.
- Create and manage engineering specifications and technical documentation.
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure quality, timing, and successful project execution.
- Manage engineering change requests and wiring specifications.
- Support vehicle electronics integration and validation activities.
- Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of Electrical Design Engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of automotive electronic systems and ECU development.
- Experience with vehicle electronics development and integration.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage supplier interactions and technical discussions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with automotive body electronics and security systems.
- CATIA experience.
- Knowledge of wiring systems and electrical architecture.
- Experience supporting vehicle development programs from design through production.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing and developing automotive ECUs, vehicle electronics, and smart security systems. Candidates with a strong automotive background, supplier management experience, and exposure to electrical architecture and wiring design will be highly preferred.
