Enterprise Architect – Azure Cloud (Contract)
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week)
Employment Type: Contract (Not Corp to Corp, No 3rd parties)

Overview
A Phoenix-based organization is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead the design, implementation, and governance of a large-scale Azure cloud platform. This role will focus on building a secure, scalable, and enterprise-ready cloud environment aligned with Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) principles.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and governance of an enterprise Azure cloud platform
- Provide architectural leadership across cloud domains including landing zones, security, networking, DevOps, and resilience
- Design and oversee Azure infrastructure, including VMs, App Services, Storage, and SQL solutions
- Establish and manage identity and access controls using Azure AD and RBAC
- Implement and enforce security and compliance standards, including policies, encryption, and governance frameworks
- Develop and execute monitoring, logging, and performance optimization strategies
- Support the transition to Azure and/or cloud-agnostic solutions
- Drive DevOps enablement, including Infrastructure-as-Code and automation initiatives
- Provide technical documentation, knowledge transfer, and ongoing architectural guidance
