As a Cath Lab RN, you will play a critical role in providing patient-centered care throughout diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. You’ll collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence, safety, and compassion.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process in accordance with professional standards
- Prepare patients for cardiac procedures and provide monitoring during and after interventions
- Assist physicians during cardiac catheterizations and related procedures
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Delegate tasks appropriately and support ancillary staff
- Monitor patient responses and adjust care plans to ensure optimal outcomes
- Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and ongoing care
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards
- Uphold patient safety, privacy, and infection control practices
Education
- Required: Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Preferred: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Required: Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Preferred: Cath Lab or critical care experience
- Current RN license (state of practice)
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Preferred: Specialty certification (e.g., CCRN or RCIS)
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Adaptability in a fast-paced procedural environment
- Commitment to high-quality patient care and safety
- Frequent exposure to patient care environments, including blood and bodily fluids
- Requires standing, walking, and assisting with patient movement and equipment
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as needed
- Potential exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials in a healthcare setting
