What You Will Be Doing (Daily Responsibilities)
- Serve as Primary Technical Authority: Bridge the gap between raw mechanical engineering specifications and external client needs for custom industrial equipment.
- Consultative Client Consultation: Manage a steady volume of incoming technical inquiries via phone and email to thoroughly investigate client process requirements and operational challenges.
- Apply Thermal & Mechanical Principles: Analyze client process data using fundamentals of heat transfer, fluid flow, and thermodynamics to engineer optimized system solutions.
- Rapid Automated Quoting: Utilize proprietary, automated engineering software platforms to generate, refine, and deliver precise technical quotes and system configurations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with internal sales and plant engineering teams to resolve manufacturing bottlenecks and deliver value-engineered system designs.
- Project Documentation: Maintain meticulous project configuration files and application records to ensure flawless handoffs to production and assembly teams.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements & Qualifications)
- 3 Years Mechanical Engineering/Design Depth: Hands-on track record designing or engineering mechanical equipment, machinery, or process systems.
- 3 Years Applications or Sales Engineering: Proven experience handling inbound technical inquiries, sizing equipment, generating proposals, or providing consultative engineering support.
- 1 Years Heat Transfer Focus: Practical familiarity with heat exchanger sizing, thermal dynamics, fluid flow, or process cooling/heating loops.
- Educational & Trade Foundation: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), related technical field, or equivalent hands-on industrial trade depth.
- Communication & Problem-Solving Aptitude: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with genuine enjoyment of phone/email technical consultation and problem-solving.
- Stable Employment Background: Solid, progressive career history demonstrating long-term commitment and reliability with past employers.
- Location & Authorization: Residence established within a comfortable daily driving radius of the Menomonee Falls, WI area, and US Citizenship or Green Card status.
Preferred Technical Assets (Bonus Skills)
- Thermal System Design: Specialized exposure to shell-and-tube, plate-and-frame, or air-cooled heat transfer equipment.
- Industrial Process Utilities: Familiarity with steam loops, boilers, chillers, or high-pressure fluid networks.
- ERP/CRM Platforms: Experience working within enterprise quoting engines or CRM platforms to manage engineering proposal workflows.
