Up to $25/hr · Waukesha County / Greater Milwaukee area · A family-owned plastics OEM where team members stay 10–20 years — Monday through Thursday schedule, every Friday through Sunday off, air-conditioned shop, and a role open due to retirement.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with a stable, family-owned OEM plastic manufacturer that has built its team on longevity — multiple employees with 10 to 20 years of tenure. This position is open due to a well-earned retirement, not turnover, and the shop it leaves behind is high-functioning, clean, and fully air-conditioned. Four days on, three days off — every week, no rotation, no exceptions.

This is a dedicated bench work and repair role. You will not be setting molds into presses. The focus is precision mold maintenance — disassembly, inspection, repair, and preventive care on high-value injection tooling. What you will be doing

• Leading maintenance and repair of high-precision injection molds — minimizing downtime and maintaining quality standards
• Disassembling, cleaning, polishing, and inspecting tooling components — executing repairs and reassembly with close attention to detail
• Diagnosing and repairing Hot Runner systems, valve gates, electrical controls, and hydraulic manifolds and cylinders
• Performing precision bench work using manual machining equipment — milling, grinding, and turning
• Executing proactive Preventive Maintenance schedules and managing tool life cycles
• Conducting bench testing for water leaks and electrical integrity before molds return to production
• Maintaining accurate digital and physical records of repairs, spare parts inventory, and tooling improvements

What we are looking for

• 1 year of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing injection molds — required
• Ability to operate manual shop equipment independently — drill press, surface grinder, lathe, and mill
• Proficiency diagnosing Hot Runner and valve gate systems
• Forklift and overhead crane experience for safe rigging and transport of heavy mold components
• Stable, long-tenure work history — consistent employers matter here
• U.S. citizen or Green Card holder residing within 45 minutes of the Waukesha County / Greater Milwaukee area

Strong pluses (not required):

• Laser welding experience
• Toolmaker background or formal apprenticeship training
