What You Will Be Doing (Daily Responsibilities)
- Surface Prep & Equipment Operation: Utilize pneumatic air tools, grinders, and sanding equipment to prepare raw metal surfaces for optimal paint adhesion.
- Booth Spray Application: Operate industrial liquid spray guns inside a dedicated spray booth to apply high-quality primers and finish coatings to custom metal equipment.
- Precision Measurement & Quality Control: Continuously use a physical measuring tape throughout the shift to verify product dimensions, coating thickness, and exact customer specs.
- Department Leadership (Lead Role): Schedule daily shop operations, assign work orders, and direct floor workflow to meet weekly production quotas.
- Team Mentorship & Onboarding (Lead Role): Train and mentor newer painters and prep technicians on spray gun technique, booth safety, and quality standards.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean, inspect, and maintain spray guns, fluid lines, regulators, and spray booth filtration systems to strict operating standards.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements & Qualifications)
- Spray Gun & Tool Experience: Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience operating industrial liquid paint spray guns and pneumatic air tools in a manufacturing or metal fabrication shop.
- Supervisory Experience (Lead Level): 2 to 5 years of verifiable team lead, foreman, or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required for Lead candidates.
- Tape Measure Mastery: Absolute precision reading a physical measuring tape down to exact fractions.
- Dependable Work Record: Strong, stable employment history ideally demonstrating 3 years of continuous tenure with past employers.
- Local Residency: US Citizen or Green Card holder residing within a comfortable 45-minute commuting radius of Richfield, WI.
Preferred Technical Assets (Bonus Skills)
- Plural-Component Systems: Knowledge of mixing catalysts, epoxy primers, and polyurethanes to exact ratios and pot-life parameters.
- Lean & 5S Floor Operations: Experience implementing organized shop flow and inventory controls for paints, solvents, and booth consumables.
- Material Handling: Experience operating overhead cranes or forklifts to safely transport large fabrications into paint booths.
