What You Will Be Doing (Daily Responsibilities)
- Serve as a dedicated Field Maintenance Technician, handling machine service, emergency repair calls, retrofits, and equipment upgrades across Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois using a company-provided vehicle.
- Perform heavy electrical troubleshooting, diagnosing control circuits, electrical panels, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), motor controls, and automated safety systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on a wide variety of custom industrial machinery and automated production lines.
- Utilize PLCs for advanced troubleshooting, connecting via software to trace I/O, identify fault conditions, and assist with system commissioning (with opportunities to learn program modifications and writing code from scratch).
- Interpret electrical schematics and blueprints to solve complex mechanical/electrical issues quickly and safely on-site.
- Maintain strong, direct client communications, serving as a helpful, professional technical partner to eliminate customer downtime.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements & Qualifications)
- 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, machinery service, or automation environment (open to lower tenure for candidates who can pass a technical skills assessment).
- Strong electrical troubleshooting expertise, including panel wiring, schematic reading, motor controls, and diagnostic testing.
- Hydraulic & Pneumatic Competency: Solid hands-on understanding of fluid power systems, valves, cylinders, and mechanical drive systems.
- PLC Diagnostic Ability: Experience using PLCs for troubleshooting is highly preferred; full PLC programming experience is a plus but not required (willingness to learn controls is key).
- Education & Skills Balance: No degree required; mechanical/electrical aptitude, technical troubleshooting mindset, and strong work ethic are prioritized above formal diplomas.
- Proximity & Requirements: Must reside within a 45-minute drive of Johnson Creek, WI, possess a valid driver's license, and hold US Citizenship or a Green Card.
