Process and Control Automation Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking a Process and Control Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automation and control systems for industrial equipment. This role involves programming and integrating PLCs, developing SCADA and HMI applications, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, and supporting on-site commissioning and training. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial automation, instrumentation, and process control, along with experience in PLC programming and drive systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and commission automation and control systems for industrial processes.
• Program and integrate PLCs, drive systems, and combustion control systems.
• Develop SCADA and operator interface applications to enhance system monitoring and control.
• Design databases and write custom programs for PLC-SCADA interfaces.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• Create electrical schematics and project documentation using AutoCAD.
• Develop scope of work, cost estimates, and budgets for automation and electrical projects.
• Gain expertise in fluid systems, metallurgy, material handling, and furnace operations.
• Assist with on-site commissioning and customer training sessions.
• Conduct technical discussions, presentations, and startup assistance for new systems.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3 years of experience in the chemical or manufacturing industry.
• Hands-on experience with industrial processing equipment, instrumentation, AC & DC drives, PLCs, and combustion systems.
• Strong knowledge of Allen Bradley or Siemens PLCs and drive systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for designing electrical schematics.
• Experience with SCADA systems and HMI development.
• Strong programming, networking, and database skills.
• Ability to act as a technical expert in automation and control systems.
• Willingness to travel internationally (up to 40%).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Rockwell Automation, PLC-5, ControlLogix, Siemens S7, TIA Portal, HMI, and SCADA software.
• Background in chemical processes or industrial control systems.
Salary : $110,000 - $130,000
