What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Mechanic position at Impact Fisheries?
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the functionality, safety, and cleanliness of our facilities and equipment. This includes performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing equipment, as well as ensuring a safe and efficient working environment for all staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Routine Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facility infrastructure to ensure proper operation and minimize downtime.
- Repairs: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues. Respond promptly to breakdowns or service requests and resolve them effectively.
- Safety: Follow safety protocols and best practices to maintain a safe working environment. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Inventory Management: Track inventory levels of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment. Order parts and supplies as needed for ongoing repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential issues or areas of concern. Prepare and submit reports on findings.
- Troubleshooting: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems in electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems quickly and efficiently to reduce downtime.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and inventory usage. Provide reports to management as required.
Schedule:
- Shift starts at 6:00 PM
- Typical shifts are 8 to 10 hours in length
- Flexibility to work overtime or additional hours as needed
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in maintenance or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance, facilities management, or a similar role.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing
- Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, work in various environmental conditions, and stand for long periods of time.
Certifications: Any relevant certifications (e.g., electrical, plumbing) are a plus.
