Key Responsibilities
Strategic Competitive Intelligence
- Analyze and track companies, products, and technology platforms, with a focus on platform-based innovation and competitive positioning
- Scan the horizon to identify new developments and implications for Immunocore’s strategy, especially in emerging technology platforms
- Translate detailed competitor and platform analysis into clear and concise summaries and implications
- Serve as a subject matter expert on key indications and platform technologies, acting as a point of reference for CI questions from senior leadership
- Partner with the broader portfolio strategy team to ensure analyses are comprehensive and actionable
- Ensure outputs are evidence-based and underpinned by thorough analysis
- Conceive and deliver specific competitive intelligence projects to support business needs
- Clearly articulate and communicate learnings from key congresses, competitor presentations, and technology showcases
- Continually refine and maintain summaries of key competitive landscapes (platforms, targets, indications)
- Monitor evolving standards of care and technology trends to anticipate future market challenges and opportunities
- Lead cross-functional workstreams and undertake deep dives on specific topics as required to inform strategy development
- Support research team in strategic competitive intelligence needs
- Collaborate proactively with Program Leaders and Program Teams to provide insights and integrate CI into clinical trial design, indication selection, and investment decisions
- Conduct market assessments, including patient segmentation, treatment algorithms, and unmet needs
- Drive development of benchmarking and/or target product profiles (TPPs) to facilitate clinical decisions and align with future commercial success
- Partner with the commercial team to ensure longer-term commercial considerations are integrated early in strategic development
- Deliver high-impact presentations and strategic briefings to Executive Leadership and key stakeholders
- Represent CI in governance forums and cross-functional strategic initiatives
- Deliver analysis to inform decisions for new R&D areas and long-range strategy
- Partner with multiple functions to proactively understand and anticipate needed insights to inform decision making across the portfolio
- Undertake bespoke analysis on specific topics or questions as required to inform R&D strategy development
- Identify key opportunities for analysis that can inform portfolio strategy
- As needed, partner with Business Development to identify and evaluate external opportunities by supporting deep-dive assessments of external assets, platforms, and companies

Experience & knowledge
- Excellent analytical abilities
- Experience performing complex competitor and market opportunity analysis in the biopharma industry – experience in oncology preferred
- Ability to collate and structure data from multiple sources to form a clear narrative and distil key issues
- Understanding of scientific, clinical and market data to identify patterns and opportunities
- Understanding of the drug development process
- Highly familiar with technical materials (e.g. scientific publications and clinical manuscripts) and sources for competitive information
- Experience performing complex competitor and market opportunity analysis
- Experience in a global matrix environment across a range of functions, seniority, and locations
- Demonstrated ability to independently undertake competitive analysis projects
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and establish and maintain credibility with senior audiences
