Job Overview
As a Church Administrative Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the church's operations and enhancing the overall experience for our congregation. Your organizational skills and customer service expertise will ensure that both staff and visitors feel welcomed and informed. You will manage various administrative tasks, maintain records, and assist in the smooth running of church activities. What you’ll do
- Serve as receptionist, warmly greeting and assisting visitors, and managing phone calls, emails, mail, and office communications.
- Operate and maintain standard office equipment and ensure the office environment is welcoming, professional, and secure.
- Provide administrative support to the Pastor, Principal, Business Manager, and church leaders, including correspondence, record-keeping, scheduling, and reports.
- Prepare and distribute weekly bulletins, newsletters, funeral bulletins, and other church publications; maintain the church website and assist with media releases.
- Manage membership records, including demographics, pastoral acts (baptisms, weddings, funerals), transfers, and special events.
- Coordinate outreach to homebound members, including weekly bulletin mailings and scheduling pastoral visits.
- Maintain calendars for church and school activities, rentals, and facility use.
- Assist with financial and office functions, including processing bills, preparing checks, ordering supplies, and supporting bulk mailings.
- Prepare meeting packets, agendas, and ballots for church council and voters’ meetings.
Basic qualifications
- Strong communication skills with excellent grammar, spelling, and writing ability.
- Warm, professional demeanor with the ability to work collaboratively in a Christian environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Publisher, Excel, Word) and willingness to learn additional software (PowerChurch, Facebook, etc.).
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Trustworthy, dependable, and committed to confidentiality.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
