What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kids Kare Aide and Playground/Lunch Supervision position at Immanuel Lutheran Church and School?
Our Kids Kare staff serves the church by supervising the activities of Immanuel’s school children; supports the director; oversees homework/lunch and playground; and maintains a clean and safe environment for the children, while supporting the Mission, Vision and Values of Immanuel Lutheran Church and School.
Must be 18 years of age and demonstrate experience working with children. (Either in a private or professional setting.) Prior to employment, candidate must have a TB test as well as a finger print clearance. The employee is required to become CPR and First Aid Certified within the first 90 days of employment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:
1. Work with and supervise children grades Kindergarten through 6th grade.
2. Adhere to the daily activities provided by the director.
3. Provide instructional leadership in one or more activities throughout the day.
4. Be able to work well as a team for the purpose of supporting staff in the completion of their work activities.
5. Be a Christian role-model representing Immanuel Lutheran.
6. Be flexible, able to adapt and be aware of what is occurring around you.
7. Monitor children for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning and playing environment.
8. Prepare and participate in arts & crafts/snacks as well as clean-up.
9. Administer minor first aid.
10. Perform housekeeping for the purpose of maintaining a safe, orderly and sanitary environment.
11. Confer with parents, children, staff, supervisors, etc. for the purpose of conveying and/or receiving information.
12. Report observations and incidents (e.g. accidents, inappropriate behavior, violations of rules, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to the director and or principal.
13. In the summer, help with field trips and the transportation to and from the field trips.
14. Participate in various meetings for the purpose of sharing information and/or improving ones skills and knowledge.
