Job Summary:

The Cook plays an essential role in creating a positive dining experience by preparing and serving high-quality, nutritious meals for our residents and guests. This position is responsible for meal preparation in accordance with established menus and recipes, ensuring food is cooked properly, presented well, and portioned accurately. The Cook also maintains a clean, safe, and organized kitchen by following all food safety and sanitation standards, completing temperature logs, and ensuring proper food storage and rotation procedures. This role supports overall kitchen operations through routine cleaning and assigned duties, while consistently providing timely service and excellent customer care.

Job Duties

• Prepare and assist in serving meals in accordance with the menu and recipes.
• Provide proper food transportation, garnish, plate-up and portion control.
• Ensure that residents and guests receive high quality food in a timely manner.
• Assist with kitchen clean-up as needed.
• Perform tasks as assigned on cleaning schedule.
• Maintain and record proper temperature controls, food storage and food rotation.
• Update documentation of temperature and equipment logs
• Demonstrate proper knife safety.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Ability to work individually and as a team.
• Ability to work on your feet and lift routine kitchen/food boxes, tools, and equipment.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Employment Requirements

• Valid Food Handlers Card needed within 30 days of hire
• Valid AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card (we can help you apply if needed)
• Current TB Test (available on-site if needed)
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Pay:

• $17.50-$19.50 per hour based on years of experience. This is a full-time, non-exempt FLSA status position.

Shifts Available:

• Shift availability will be discussed during the interview. Must be willing to work both weekdays and weekends.
