SUMMARY:
An ideal elementary Spanish teacher should have a passion for teaching, love and proficiency in the Spanish language and should enjoy being in the company of children. Spanish teachers should have strong communication skills and should be able to teach and create an environment that is filled with fun to ensure better understanding. Successful teachers should be able to design innovative instructional methods and be able to maintain and update the records of the students and guide them on methods of improvisation. The elementary Spanish teacher’s responsibilities comprise teaching the Spanish language in a simple and effective manner that will include detailed information on the Spanish culture and literature.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Elementary Spanish teachers are responsible for carrying out a variety of responsibilities, the most essential being able to direct the students and help them in understanding the language, so that they are able to communicate, both, written and orally, and have an aural comprehension. Here is a list of key responsibilities that need to be performed by them:
- Create a nurturing environment that emphasizes both academic excellence and the values of the Catholic faith
- To impart knowledge and develop skills of students that are relevant to Spanish language and are carried out as per the designed course curriculum
- To ensure that the students get in-depth understanding of the language and have respect and appreciation for the Spanish culture and literature
- To implement various activities and programs that will cater to the varying intellectual levels of the students
- To assess and evaluate the progress of each student in Spanish language related to reading, writing, and aural comprehension and speaking
- To enforce rules and regulations that will ensure a better conducive learning environment
- To maintain, update, and keep a track record of the student's behavior, their discipline, and their performance in various assessments
They actively participate in faculty meetings and parent teacher meetings. They give appropriate feedback regarding the progress of their children and recommend ways to improve their performances. They attend various workshops or training programs that will enhance and provide knowledge on how to improve the teaching skills. They maintain a record of all the instructional and study materials. They instruct the students to store it and take proper care. They implement strategies that will provide effective learning techniques and assist in learning the language authentically. They work in coordination with the teachers, staff members, and develop methods that will help in delivering high quality education to the students.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
The Spanish Teacher should have patience, creativity and a knack for organization and multitasking. In order to be successful in this position, the successful candidate must understand how to motivate and communicate with children.
