Job Summary:
To perform tasks related to maintaining and improving Immaculata University's grounds, grounds equipment and facilities. To provide a safe, functional, and attractive environment for the campus' students, faculty, staff, administrators, and visitors. Work may be assigned independently or as a member of a work team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain a positive appearance across the campus grounds.
- Task may include but not limited to the following: plant/water flowers, trim bushes, pruning, tree branch removal leaf pick up
- Salt ice when needed
- Maintain all grounds equipment and related vehicles.
- Assist in set-up / break-down for special events
- Assist team members as needed
- Provide on-call and after-hours' coverage.
- Assist the mechanical and general maintenance men.
- Operate light or medium weight trucks and equipment to include tractors
- Work directed by Facility Management.
- Remain up-to-date and informed as to current practices of job-related functions.
- Work with other people that may be contacted in an agreeable manner.
- Cooperate with other people within the department and other department personnel in completing assigned tasks.
- Display the necessary initiative and dependability to work alone or in groups.
- Perform all duties in a safe and professional manner and in accordance with department policies and procedures.
- Complete daily work orders and PM's. Turn in completed paperwork at the end of each shift worked.
- Ensure service slips, packing slips, and completed paperwork back to the Facilities office daily.
- Ensure that all work is being conducted in a safe and ethical manner. Complete daily safety inspections.
- Responsible for working in compliance with all OSHA, EPA, and other local, state, and federal government laws and regulations.
- Perform any additional duties to support Immaculata University as deemed necessary.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Minimum Requirements:
- This is an entry level position where the employee will typically have basic skills/capabilities in one or more trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical or grounds. This position receives specific direction about work to be accomplished and common/preferred work methods. Able to read and comprehend blueprints.
- Must have basic computer knowledge to include Microsoft Outlook
- Good health with adequate strength and endurance to perform the work described in various types of weather.
- Deal with employees, management, and client's guests and employees with tact and courtesy.
- Possess a valid driver's license. Subject to MVR check.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to maintain effective relations with supervisor and fellow employees.
- Ability to follow and apply safety rules and regulations for job assignments and equipment used.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds.
- Ability to use tools and equipment as required.
- Eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- Willing to be trained as required.
