OVERVIEW:
IMKAT Homes is seeking an experienced Job Captain to manage residential ADU and home addition projects from signed contract through permit issuance. This role coordinates homeowners, drafters, structural engineers, Title 24 consultants, permit coordinators, and local jurisdictions to keep projects moving through design and permitting.
Ideal candidates have experience in residential construction, ADUs, architecture, drafting, permitting, project coordination, or pre-construction management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage residential ADU and home addition projects through design and permitting.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners.
- Coordinate architectural plans, structural engineering, Title 24, soils reports, and consultant deliverables.
- Review project feasibility, site conditions, and design requirements.
- Track project schedules, permit submissions, and project milestones.
- Process change orders and communicate scope changes to clients.
- Work closely with permit coordinators and local building departments.
- Identify and resolve design, permitting, and consultant coordination issues.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and updates in BuilderTrend.
EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND
- 2 years of experience in residential construction, ADU projects, architecture, drafting, permitting, project coordination, or pre-construction management.
- Experience coordinating homeowners, consultants, contractors, or local agencies.
- Background in residential design, architecture, drafting, construction management, or permitting preferred.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural plans.
- Working knowledge of California residential building codes, zoning requirements, setbacks, and ADU regulations.
- Familiarity with the residential permit submittal and plan review process.
- Experience coordinating structural engineering, Title 24, soils/geotechnical, and other project consultants.
- BuilderTrend or similar project management software experience preferred.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $111,648.88 per year
